As we kick off the 2008 Stewardship Campaign, interest has been expressed in the giving patterns of our congregation for 2007. Following are some facts regarding the 526 pledges at GCC in 2007:

Further, about 28% of members do not pledge but contribute in other ways or make financial gifts without pledging. More information on our pledge make-up will be available on our web site soon.
GCC, like most churches nationally, has been highly dependent on large donors to fund operating needs. We want to encourage increased generosity and pledges from all members. Our goals are to regain lost pledges, to get people who give financially but don’t pledge to agree to a formal pledge, to increase total pledges in dollars and in number of pledges as a reflection of increased generosity, and to focus on the benefits of giving rather than focusing on funding the budget. Remember, “The heart that gives, gathers.”
The 2008 campaign is shortened so that it goes from Sept. 16-October 15. A commitment form has been mailed to your home. A prompt response will be greatly appreciated.
