A Restoration Church
Glenview Community Church (“GCC”) entered into a new relationship with A Restoration Church on Sunday, February 23, 2025. A Restoration Church will be based in GCC’s building for its worship, programs, and administration. We will seek to cooperate and support one another in whatever ways we can. As far as it is known, this is the first space sharing arrangement between a congregation of the United Church of Christ and a church that has its origins in the evangelical nondenominational tradition. GCC and A Restoration Church are both egalitarian and Open and Affirming congregations. We fully affirm the equal place of women in ordained ministry. We welcome LGBT+ persons into the full life, ministry, and leadership of our churches.
About
A Restoration Church is an independent church that exists for people who are pursuing the way of Jesus and who have more questions than answers. It is a place for those who may be wrestling with their faith and seek a safe place to explore. For those who have experienced church hurt, it is a space to heal. A Restoration Church believes the message of Jesus is liberating and restorative, and is marked by sacrificial love, radical hospitality, and generous service.

Every Sunday at 11:00 AM in GCC’s Community Room.

A Restoration Church describes its values in these words:
“We believe everyone is made in God’s image and welcome at God’s table—where no one is nameless or faceless.
We are pursuing the way of Jesus, marked by sacrificial love, radical hospitality, and generous service.
We believe the Bible conveys God’s interaction with humanity and is our foundation for how we live as a faith community.
We are a church centered around scripture, prayer, worship, and communion.
We are a community made up of people who don’t all look the same, act the same, or think the same, and are committed to humbly learning from each other and God.
We are a safe place to talk about difficult things, and a community that has more questions than answers as we seek to be transformed by Jesus.
