Summer of Love: A Summer Worship Series- June 21- September 6, 2026 (Sundays) at 10:00 a.m. Worship with us all summer long as we explore what Scripture has to say about love and what that means for us today!

Mere Christianity Book Study – Thursdays in July beginning July 9 through August 27, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. in the Commons. Join us as we read and discuss Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, one of the most influential works of Christian apologetics and spiritual reflection. Rev. Jim will lead a discussion of Lewis’s famous defense of Christian faith, published in 1952. 

Youth Service Learning in Chicago – Friday, July 31 – Sunday, August 2, 2026. Our middle and high school students will participate in a weekend of service projects and experiential learning in Chicago while sleeping overnight at a church in Chicago while exploring faith through group devotions and worship. The weekend will include service opportunities as well as visits to organizations doing important work in Chicago and will end with worship Sunday morning at Trinity UCC in Chicago.

Chicago Dogs Baseball Game – Sunday, August 2 at 3:00pm at Impact Field, Rosemont. Join your GCC friends for an afternoon of baseball as we cheer on the Chicago Dogs! Tickets are $17 each, contact the office at 847-724-2210, email us: office@gccucc.com, or stop by to get your tickets by July 20. Tickets can be picked up the week of July 27. 

Godly Play Camp – August 3-6, 2026 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at GCC. Join us for a joyful week of stories, creativity, music, and play at Godly Play Camp! Children ages 3-12 are invited to explore faith through Godly Play storytelling, crafts, games, music, snacks, and community. Each morning will include opportunities for imagination, wonder, friendship, and fun as we learn together. Cost is $40 per child. Register here by July 27, or by calling the office. Intergenerational Choral Workshop – Saturday, August 15, 2026 9:00 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. Sing, learn, and connect across generations!
Whether you’re a seasoned chorister, a school singer, or just love to lift your voice in the shower, this workshop is for you. Join us for a day of community, vocal growth, and joyful music-making. Zero experience or preparation is required! Learn from professional guest clinicians including Karen Brunssen – renowned vocal expert and professor from Northwestern University, Stephanie Gregoire – Music Education professor at UIC and children’s choir specialist, and Kate Lee – Choir Director at Glenview Community Church and Maine East High School. We will showcase a short, informal performance for friends and family at 3:00 p.m. $30 for adults and $15 for kids, click here to register.
